EFT Tapping Script for parents of adult drug addicts!

If you or someone you know is dealing with the pain of an adult child who is addicted to drugs or alcohol, please tap along with me if this speaks to you.  Or send it to someone who may benefit from it.

Before beginning, calculate from a scale of 1 to 10 what the level of powerlessness or distress that you feel.   Write that number down.   Note if you feel it physically and write that number down.

KC – say three times while tapping on the KC point with either hand, ” Even though I feel powerless and it hurts to think I can’t help my child, I am open to deeply and completely accepting all my feelings anyway.”  

  Tapping Sequence:

Tap about 7 to 10 times on each of the following energy points while repeating the Reminder Phrase or create your own phrase on your own truth.   

TH = this powerlessness

EB = it really hurts to feel powerless

SE = I don’t have any control of this

UE = It is true, that is how I feel

UN =I have tried everything to help

UL = Nothing has worked

CB = It hurts to think I can’t help

UA = It really hurts that even the little things don’t help

TH = I feel I should be able to help

EB = I am supposed to help my child

SE = I think I am helping but I am not

UE = I have tried lots of things

UN =I am angry and I resent it

UL = Nothing works and they are still using

CB = I can feel the hurt in my chest and throat

UA = What if I could let go of this a little bit?

TH = What if I could?

EB = This really hurts

SE = I am also angry at my son or daughter

UE = It is true, that is how I feel

UN =What if I could let go of the hurt or anger a little bit

UL = I am just stating how I truly feel

CB = I have been stuck in this for awhile

UA = I acknowledge how I feel

TH = What if I could feel differently and let go of the pain

Focus on distress again and rate it.

If 0, stop. 

If 1 or more, repeat Setup with same phrase as above or modify it to change it to your true feelings.  Tap on your own truth and notice the shifts!

In addition to my own knowledge and experiences that EFT does help with all kinds of addictions including food, drugs and alcohol, sex, retail therapy, cigarettes and anything else one may be addicted to,  I came across an article from www.emofree.com.

   In this article, Kelly End describes using EFT in her 12 step programs, on the personal inventory part of the program.   She describes how EFT works beautifully on neutralizing specific negative events and the end result is healing.
